Getting started

Install Little Big Mouse on Windows 10/11, arrange your screens the way they sit on your desk, and turn it on.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (x64).
  • The .NET 10 Runtime (x64) — LBM runs on .NET and does not bundle it. If the app won’t start after installing, this is almost always the missing piece.

Install

  1. Download the latest installer from the download page (or straight from GitHub Releases).
  2. Run the LittleBigMouse_x.y.z.exe installer. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning — the installer is not code-signed; choose More info → Run anyway, or build from source if you prefer.
  3. Optionally change the installation path, then let the installer finish.
  4. Launch Little Big Mouse from the Start Menu.

Set up your layout

The whole point of LBM is that it knows the real, physical size and position of your screens — so the first thing to do is tell it:

  1. In the center panel, you’ll see your displays drawn at their physical scale, as reported by the monitors themselves.
  2. Drag the screens so they match how they actually sit on your desk — including vertical offsets. A laptop below an external screen, a portrait monitor to the side: model reality, not the Windows pixel grid.
  3. If a monitor reports a wrong physical size (it happens), adjust its dimensions from the size view so the proportions on screen match the proportions on your desk.
  4. Save the layout.

Turn it on

Enable LBM from the bottom panel (or the tray icon). From now on the mouse daemon routes your cursor between screens at the point where they physically meet.

A few things worth trying next:

  • Corner crossing — allow diagonal crossings at screen corners.
  • Border resistance — friction before the cursor crosses over, set per section of an edge and up to an outright wall.
  • Screen looping — leave the last screen and re-enter from the first.
